Ardrossan Wreck - North Ayrshire

Ardrossan Wreck - 0.8s, ISO100, 28mm @ f/11

This is the minimal remnants of an old wreck in the North Shore beach of Ardrossan on the Ayrshire coast of western Scotland.

I haven’t been able to find much in the way of solid reliable information on the history of this wreck. I was under the impression for a time that this was wreckage from a small fishing vassal that was part of a transport flotilla during world war 1 that had broken free from it’s moorings during a storm and was beached and subsequently left unclaimed where it lays today. however, this was information that I could not find any corresponding evidence to back. but with so little being left of this wreck maybe the mystery of it’s story is actually more intriguing than the facts that surrounded it’s story. so for me it’s just a nice little foreground element in an otherwise featherless beach.

(I’ll leave a list of some equipment that I used with links if anyone’s looking for inspiration or for a starting point for their own mountain photography shopping list)
